Central Visayas - One of the major goals of the Department of Agriculture is to have a continuous and reliable supply of high-quality inbred rice seeds for positive long-term impacts on seed security, farm productivity and these directly contribute to attaining rice sufficiency in the country.
Cebu – Another batch of farmers who are members of the Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative in Pinamungajan, Cebu were trained on Good Agricultural Practices for Fruits and Vegetables. Members of the said coop have requested the GAP training to support for the renewal of their Philippine Good Agricultural Practices (PHILGAP) certification.
Cebu – There were 20 fruits and vegetables farmers who are members of the Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative in Panimungajan, Cebu were trained on Good Agricultural Practices for Fruits and Vegetables. The training was held in Nadelmar Beach Resort, Dalaguete, Cebu on 6 – 8 July 2021.

Negros Oriental - Rice is the number one staple food in the country. To help meet the gigantic domestic demand for rice, there is a need to help farmers improve their yield. According to IRRI, farmers lose an estimated average of 37% of their rice crop to pests and diseases every year.
Cebu – The local government unit of Asturias would want to become a major player in fruits and vegetables production. The LGU then expressed their intent towards the Agricultural Training Institute in Central Visayas to train their farmers on good agricultural practices for fruits and vegetables. Central Visayas – On 22 – 24 June 2021, a blended Training on Information, Education and Communication (IEC) production and infographics was conducted. The training was participated by 32 extension workers: 16 were from Bohol and 16 from Siquijor.
Cebu – The second batch of the Training Course in the Operation and Maintenance of Rice Machinery and Equipment was held in Tatope Travel Lodge, Valladolid, Carcar City, Cebu on 7 – 11 June 2021.
