DILIMAN, Quezon City - Webmasters of Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) central and regional offices were refreshed and re-oriented on their functions as administrators in the recently held Drupal 7 End-user Boot Camp for ATI-RTC Webmasters.
A total of 15 webmasters were capacitated to use the functionality of their Drupal administrator account, which includes managing users and content, configuring and updating modules, and site optimization.
Drupal is a free and open source content-management framework. It provides a back-end framework for at least 2.3% of all websites worldwide - ranging from personal blogs to corporate, political, and government sites.
e-Learning Process Adviser Jose Rey Alo led the discussions and workshops on the Drupal modules. He emphasized the creation of customized landing pages as well as alternate homepage layout while maintaining the overall Government Website Template look.
"As webmasters, we should be knowledgeable on what to update on our website and what links are not working. We should also have a backup so that when the site gets hacked or compromised, our files can still be recovered," Alo stressed.
Topics which concern increasing Search Engine Optimization and page visibility were also discussed during the boot camp. This includes appropriate using of tags and links along with the use of keywords and even social media which will boost page views.
The Drupal 7 End-user Boot Camp for ATI-RTC Webmasters was held at the ATI Central Office, Diliman Quezon City last November 11-14.
