Policy Research Month Calls for Adaptation to Modernization

In recognition of the critical role of policy research in the socioeconomic advancement of the Philippines, the month of September is celebrated as the Development Policy Research Month (DPRM).

Pursuant to Malacañang Proclamation No. 247 issued in September 2002, DPRM aims to cultivate a strong culture of research and use of data and evidence among the country's national and local decision-makers in policymaking and program planning.

The theme for this year is "Harnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Creating Our Future Today" which intends to promote greater awareness and deeper understanding of the potential impacts of modern technologies on the patterns of production, consumption, employment, and governance in the Philippines.

The Philippine Institute for Development Studies leads the month-long activities of the DPRM. For more details of the celebration, visit http://dprm.pids.gov.ph.
