DILIMAN, Quezon City – Intent on recapitulating the learning, experiences, and linkage of the participants throughout this year’s rollout of the Binhi ng Pag-Asa Program (BPP), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) recently conducted the program’s National Year-End Summit last December 16-17, 2021. The activity was attended by youth participants from the five target provinces, who successfully completed the BPP training of trainers, as well as the provincial, city, and municipal trainings. 

The summit was graced by the Honorable Senator Grace Poe, together with her Chief-of-Staff Brian Poe-Llamanzares, and Chief-for-Political Affairs Mr. Jyleazar F. dela Rosa; Department of Agriculture’s Undersecretary for Operations and Agri-Fisheries Mechanization Ariel T. Cayanan; and ATI’s Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Director Rosana P. Mula. The OIC-Director congratulated the participants, and recognized the support of the Center Directors of the involved Regional Training Centers (RTCs), Provincial Local Government Units (PLGU), and the Local Government Unit (LGU).

Included in the summit were contests such as the AgriQuiz Bowl, Video Making Contest, Agricultural Advocacy Making, and Success Stories, in line with the theme “Kabataang Pilipino: Binhi ng Kinabukasan, Pag-Asa ng Bayan.”

There were also session talks included, namely: Integration of Values Formation towards Effective Leadership by Mr. Jyleazar F. dela Rosa; Influencers in Agriculture by Ms. Princess “Millennial Bukid Girl” Marcos, Marjorie Pineda-Uy, and Mr. Reden Mark Costales; The Role of the Youth in Philippine Agriculture by Mr. Joseph Carl Dakila I. Olfindo; and Opportunities for the Youth by Ms. Antonieta J. Arceo and Mr. Renato Barreiro.

With BPP as a vessel for youth development that helps build their potentials as partners in community and agricultural development, the overwhelming participation of the youth sector in the program shows their commitment and persistence to contribute in developing the agricultural sector of the country. The program paved the way to capacitate the youth and prepare them to become future leaders.
