QUEZON CITY, Metro Manila – In its pursuit to continuously professionalize the country’s agriculture extension delivery system, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is calling all interested agricultural extension workers (AEWs) to avail of its thesis and dissertation assistance.
This latest scholarship offering of the Institute aims to provide subsidy to AEWs who are pursuing graduate studies on agriculture-related courses. Grant assistance amounting to Php75,000 for thesis, and Php175,000 for dissertation will be given per grantee. There are, however, only 20 slots available – 10 for thesis assistance and another 10 for dissertation assistance.
The scholarship is open to all AEWs working in the Department of Agriculture (DA) and its bureaus and attached agencies; state colleges and universities (SUCs); and local government units (LGUs). The applicant must be enrolled in any agriculture, fisheries, and natural resources course in any SUC; the course program must be in line with the mandate of his/her mother agency; he/she must have rendered at least two years as a permanent employee; is endorsed by the Agency Head; not more than 50 years old at the time of application; not under any other scholarship for his/her graduate studies; have an approved research proposal by the Graduate School Panel; and his/her research proposal must be in line with the priority thrusts of the DA.
All interested applicants may apply directly to ATI’s Career Development and Management Division (CDMD) by submitting an application letter along with the following: latest personal data sheet (PDS) with 2x2 ID picture, certified by the Agency's Human Resource (HR) officer; certified copy of duties and responsibilities or Position Description Form (PDF); certification from the Agency's HR that the applicant is not under any form of scholarship at the time of application; endorsement letter signed by the Head of Agency/Office; copy of latest Registration Form; research proposal approved by the Graduate School Panel; and GANTT chart or timetable of activities of the Research Study.
