MANILA – The Agricultural Training Institute's e-learning for agriculture and fisheries has been recognized as one of the Government Best Practices in 2019 by the Development Academy of the Philippines.
With its entry titled as "e-Learning for Agriculture and Fisheries: Enhancing Access to Agricultural Knowledge Products and Services in the Philippines," the ATI showcased the program’s various courses as a Knowledge Management initiative catering to a diverse audience in the farming and fishing sector across the country.
e-Learning is one of the major components of the Department of Agriculture’s e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries, with ATI as the lead implementing agency. Since 2007, it has been catering to all other agricultural enthusiasts, youth, overseas Filipino workers, retirees, as well as those in the teaching, medical and military professions, and not just to farmers and fishers in the country.
The Government Best Practice Recognition or GBPR is a flagship program of the Government Quality Management Program that aims to promote and showcase outstanding and innovative practices demonstrated by the public sector organizations. It is one of the strategies of the Development Academy of the Philippines, through its Productivity and Development Center and Center of Excellence – Public Sector Productivity to further enhance the quality of service delivery of the Philippine Government.
