DILIMAN, Quezon City—To enhance the digital know-how of the accepted interns for the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program (FYFIP) in Taiwan, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) spearheaded a half-day end-user training on Google Workspace (GWS).
A total of 47 FYFIP interns took part in the activity where they learned the different features and key capabilities of GSW core applications.
Michael Yu of Kollab guided the participants on how to use the various applications and collaboration tools of Google, as well as some tips and tricks to maximize its features. Kollab is the Institute’s provider of corporate GWS.
The training aims to assist the FYFIP interns who are set to embark on a Pre-departure Orientation Course (PDOC) which will be done online due to pandemic-related protocols. It was also organized to give them an advantage as they complete their 11-month internship in Taiwan.
“The training was very timely and relevant especially because of the pandemic. It helped us discover more about the internet. Before this training, I was afraid to use the computer, but the speaker encouraged me to explore the online world more,” Avi Mark Puntanar from CALABARZON said.
Dominador Calub, Jr. from the Ilocos Region said that the training provided him with the latest information on online tools which he can use during his internship in Taiwan and throughout his journey as young Filipino farmer.
The training on GWS was held last June 11, 2021 via Google Meet. Aside from the FYFIP interns, one ATI staff and an intern from the Mentoring and Attracting Youth in Agribusiness program also took part in the virtual activity.
