TAYTAY, Rizal—To continually expand the reach of agriculture-related information and knowledge, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has partnered with the ABS-CBN Corporation in the latter’s series of public service events.
Representatives from ATI facilitated the urban farming seminar during the DZMM Teaching Learning Caring event, held together with the ABS-CBN Kapamilya Love Weekend. This is part of the network’s 65th anniversary celebration.
Lourdes Bischoco, organic agriculture practitioner and owner of an ATI-assisted Learning Site in Bulacan, talked about different practices in urban farming. She demonstrated some ways to make organic concoctions and plant medicinal herbs using recyclable materials.
Moreover, Biscocho cited examples of mosquito-repellent plants, such as citronella grass and marigold. Aside from this, ATI also distributed free information, education, and communication materials at the event.
Around 300 residents in Taytay, Rizal participated in the simultaneous public service activities of the ABS-CBN, which include medical mission, free haircut services, and distribution of reading glasses.
This was held last August 18 at Rosario Ocampo Elementary School in this town. The next Kapamilya Public Service Caravan will head to Muntinlupa City on August 25.
