‘Rise with Rice’ Radio Program Launched

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – Last July 20, 2020, the first episode of the “Rise with Rice: A Radio Program on Inbred Rice Seeds Production and Farm Mechanization” under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program was launched at DXDB-AM or Radyo Bandilyo in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The airing will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday every 5:00-5:30 in the morning with Ms. Roselle Flores from the Provincial Agriculture Office as the regular anchor of the program. Farmer participants are from the Province of Bukidnon, with target municipalities but not limited to: Don Carlos, Valencia City, Malaybalay City, Maramag, Kitaotao, Lantapan, San Fernando, Cabanglasan, Quezon, Sumilao and IMpasug-ong.

Aside from the listed municipalities, anyone can enroll in the program via online. A link has been provided at the official Facebook page of ATI Northern Mindanao where they can enroll and can watch the livestream through the official Facebook page of the local radio station of Radyo Bandilyo.

The program aims to introduce to farmers rice technologies and opportunities in order to cope with a very competitive market. Modules for the program includes a short briefing on the Philippine Rice Industry, the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program, the concepts and principles of the PalayCheck System, policies and guidelines on Seed Certification, basic financial management in Rice Production and the integration of vegetables with rice.
