DILIMAN, Quezon City—A new series of free webinars is made available for urban farmers and agri enthusiasts as the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Central Office, in collaboration with Agriculture Magazine, launches this year’s AgriTalk online.
The program, hosted by Agri Magazine’s editor-in-chief Yvette Tan, will offer discussions and actual demonstration on urban gardening, product processing, and agripreneurship.
Cooperators from selected ATI Learning Sites for Agriculture from Central Luzon and CaLaBarZon will serve as resource speakers during the program.
AgriTalk was conceived in 2017 to expand awareness on urban agriculture, and encourage city residents to grow their own food at home.
It is initially a free seminar series being conducted in highly urbanized areas featuring experts and success stories in various agricultural fields. In 2019, more than 1,900 agri enthusiasts, farmers, agricultural extension workers, and students participated in the four legs of AgriTalk held in the cities of Puerto Princesa, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, and Dasmariňas.
This year, the ATI Regional Training Centers launched their respective local AgriTalk series online in line with the restrictions brought by the global pandemic. For the Central Office, AgriTalk will also be offered online this December, with the following schedule:
December 12, 2020 – Urban Gardening and Seed Harvesting
