DILIMAN, Quezon City—The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to strengthen its partnership with different international organizations for the advancement of the agriculture sector.

In a meeting with officials from different agriculture-related organizations in Bangladesh, ATI showcased its Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) program and its initiatives to promote climate-smart technologies and practices.

ATI Director Alfredo Aton, together with Engr. Renato Dela Cruz and Manuel Dimalaluan of the Partnerships and Accreditation Division, led the said meeting.

Dimalaluan presented the CRA program with emphasis on Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT), a sustainable farming system integrated with soil conservation measures. His presentation included its objectives, components, and advantages, as well as a comparative study using the SALT model.

The Bangladeshi officials also learned of the ATI’s promotion of urban agriculture, particularly, technologies on organic fertilizer preparation, culturing indigenous microorganisms, and container gardening.

The Bangladesh delegation visited the Institute as part of their short-term training on climate-smart agriculture, which was facilitated by the Philippine Association of Research Managers, Inc. (PHILARM).

The activity was held last April 30 in the ATI-Rural Development and Education Center in this city.
