The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is one with the nation in celebrating the National Women's Month (NWM) this March.
In the Philippines, 2020 is a turning point in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE). This year also marks the 45th founding anniversary of the Philippine Commission on Women.
Under the banner theme “We Make Change Work for Women,” the 2020 NWM will celebrate and take stock of the progress made to advance GEWE in the country.
In line with the global multi-generational campaign of UN Women, “Generation Equality: Realizing women’s rights for equal future,” the celebration will also bring together women and girl leaders from various generations towards a collective agenda of empowering the female population.
To celebrate NWM, ATI has lined up activities such as a Gender Sensitivity Training with Session on Gender & Other Key Issues on March 16-20 for its Gender and Development (GAD) focal persons. This aims to mainstream gender in the programs, projects, and activities of the Institute.
Moreover, a Symposium of Women in Rice Farming will be conducted on March 23-27 among ATI GAD coordinators and women practitioners. The activity will further promote the role and potentials of women rice farmers in the agriculture sector.
