DILIMAN, Quezon City—In its continuous effort to deliver harmonized extension programs and activities in the national and regional level, some technical personnel of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) gathered for a three-day Technical Guidance Session.
In this activity, the participants were updated on the improved guidelines of ATI’s extension modalities and banner programs. These include the accreditation of Extension Service Providers, Learning Sites for Agriculture, and Schools for Practical Agriculture; alliance-building and grant management; Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund; as well as Department of Agriculture’s commodity programs.
Chief agriculturists from ATI’s regional offices, particularly from their respective Partnerships and Accreditation Sections, and selected commodity focal persons at the ATI Central Office took part in the activity.
Through the session, the participants further understood their shared vision and responsibilities in the implementation of more responsive extension programs and services. The refinement of the Tier 2 and Rural-Based Organizations databases and the registered forms and procedures in the Quality Management System were also discussed.
After the activity, inputs from the ATI regional training centers were consolidated and group agreements were made on further revisions of the various guidelines and on the adoption of Farm Business School module.
ATI Director Alfredo Aton and Officer-in-Charge Assistant Director Rosana Mula graced this event held last February 11-13 in the ATI Central Office in this city.
