ATI Joins '2021 Resilient Eco-Agri Tourism Travel and Trade Exhibit'

QUEZON CITY —- The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) participated recently in the “2021 Resilient Eco-Agri Tourism Travel and Trade Exhibit”, organized by the Soroptimist International of Nova Central and Urban Green Communes.

The event highlighted the ATI’s Urban Agriculture initiatives under the “Plant, Plant, Plant” Program of the Department of Agriculture, which aims to address the threat on food security during global health crisis. Among the highlights of the Department of Agriculture’s campaign for urban agriculture in metropolitan areas are the distribution of agriculture starter kits, establishment of urban agriculture community garden and enrollment to the free e-learning courses on crops, livestock, fisheries, sustainable agriculture, and social technology, among others.

About 100 Urban Agriculture Starter Kits were distributed during the event for the exhibitors and mall-goers as a means of encouraging them to start their own urban agriculture garden in their communities.

The event was held at the New Trade Hall of the Robinson Mall, Novaliches, Quezon City last January 29, 2021.
