The EHRDP is intended for scholarships and trainings for the purpose of developing technical, scientific, professionals, and academic workers to meet the challenges and requirements of a modernized agriculture and fisheries sector in the Philippines. This was developed along the DA’s mandate of providing quality education and training in science and technology to promote the total development of its human resources for greater service to the nation.

With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times.
