ATI, BAR, and DA’s National Corn Program Conduct Training on Nutrient Expert® for Maize

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) and the National Corn Program conducted two batches of virtual training on Site Specific Nutrient Management (SSNM) Nutrient Expert® for Maize last October 19-21 and October 26-28, 2021 for Bicol, Visayas, and Mindanao regions; and Luzon regions, respectively. The training aims to capacitate Provincial Corn Coordinators, ATI and DA’s Regional Field Office technical staff on the use of the SSNM Nutrient Expert for Maize.

DUMAGUETE CITY—Information Officers (IOs) of the Department of Agriculture-Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program, together with some Communication Officers from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS), were equipped with new skills in writing press releases as part of the Department’s efforts to pursue comprehensive and proactive communication strategies.

Expert Lists Tips to Keep Food Safe at Home

DILIMAN, Quezon City—To prevent foodborne illnesses at home, a food protection specialist from the Department of Agriculture (DA) encouraged Filipino families to be mindful in handling, preparing, cooking, and storing food and food items. 

In a radio interview, Edyloid Chavez, officer-in-charge of the Quality Assurance Section of the DA-Food Development Center (FDC), offered helpful ways to ensure that the food being served for the family is safe and not contaminated.

DILIMAN, Quezon City — The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), through its Regional Training Centers (RTCs), spearheaded the roll-out of Provincial Trainings in five target provinces last August 2 to 25, 2021. A total of eight training batches were conducted in Nueva Ecija, Albay, Camarines Sur, Aklan, and Davao de Oro.
