The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON launched the Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Integrated Diversified Organic Farming System (IDOFS) on June 18 and 22, 2021 in Magdalena, Laguna and Candelaria, Quezon, respectively. The season-long activity aims to enhance the knowledge, technical capability and skills of the participants on IDOFS through the conduct of FFS with extension support.
Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, OIC Assistant Center Director, with Mr. Marlon P. Tobias, Provincial Agriculturist of Laguna and Hon. Peter C. Bucal, Vice Mayor of Magdalena, graced the program in Magdalena, Laguna. While, Mr. Mervin Vitangcol, Training Specialist, graced the launching in Candelaria, Quezon.
The activity includes face to face session practicing the minimum health standards and protocols. Moreover, a technology demonstration garden will serve as a learning field and hands-on activities for the FFS. The participants will also receive starter kits which will be used during the conduct of FFS.
The local government units of Magdalena and Candelaria extended their support to the program. A total of 50 farmer-participants are expected to complete the training.
