TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - In celebration of the Institute's 34th founding anniversary, the Center envisions a proactive extension service and more innovative strategies in developing and sharing relevant Agriculture and Fishery (AF) information to various farmers, extension workers and other clients.
In a video message delivered through Facebook Live at ATI CALABARZON's page, Center Director, Marites Piamonte-Cosico thanked the dedicated and hardworking men and women of the Center, along with agency partners and private farms in meeting the agency's targets in the previous fiscal year.
The Center led a simple two-day anniversary celebration with the following activity highlights:
'e-Hub Reloaded'
The Information Services Section (ISS) gave the public a virtual tour of its e-Extension Hub, with more publications available for in-house use, and IEC materials for distribution. ISS Chief, Dr. Rolando Maningas and Library Services Focal Person, Ms. Jamila Balmeo invited residents in Trece Martires City and nearby communities to visit the learning hub for research purposes and technical assistance on AF-related concerns.
ATI@Home Learning Site for Agriculture Product Series: "Tsokolate"
Farmers, agri enthusiasts must watch out for the Center's line-up for Agricultural Technologies thru Internet (ATI)@Home, focusing on processing of various produce by successful Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) partners in the region. Its first episode on "Tsokolate," featuring world-class local brand, "Tangerine" of Four K Kakao Farm in Gumaca, Quezon aired simultaneously on Facebook and YouTube on January 28, 2021, 1:00 in the afternoon. Interested individuals can still watch the full episode at ATI Calabarzon social media pages.
River Clean-Up and Giant Bamboo Planting
Reaching out to its community in Trece Martires City, the Center participated in a river clean-up and giant bamboo tree planting on January 29. It was part of the CENRO (City Environment and Natural Resources Office) - Trece's weekly clean-up drive in compliance to a DILG memorandum. Both regular and Job Order personnel took part in the activity.
"UrbanATIn 'To"
Wrapping up the two-day celebration was a virtual tour of ATI's version of 'ATIng Gulayan,' dubbed as "UrbanATIn 'To." In a 30-minute vlog that aired live on ATI Calabarzon's Facebook page, Training Specialist II, Lizbeth David interviewed techno-demo farm in-charge, HVCDP Focal, Vira Jamolin while doing a walking tour of the integrated farm. Jamolin explained every component of the farm and invited netizens to visit and learn from its technologies and best practices.
In a simple closing ceremony, CD Cosico honored loyalty awardees who served the agency for 15 years. ATI in CALABARZON celebrated the Institute's 34th founding anniversary last January 28-29 with its overarching theme, "LEADS in Mobilizing and Empowering Partners & Communities Towards ONE DA."
