Local Farmer Technicians trained on Agro-entrepreneurship

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, CAVITE - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Calabarzon in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office Region IV-A conducted the “Capability Enhancement Course for Local Farmer Technicians (Batch 1)” last September 7 to 11, 2020 at ATI-Calabarzon Training Hall.

The five-day (face-to-face) refresher course centered on various topics on Agro-entrepreneurship with General Manager of Uma Verde Econature Farm, Kristine Ramos, and Bart Tengonciang, President of Farmshare Prime serving as resource persons. Ramos and Tengonciang talked about Agro-enterprise industry stakeholders, product supply, financial management, farmers’ mobilization in capacity-building activities and collective marketing.

Showing his support and gratitude to the participants, Engr. Arnel de Mesa (Regional Executive Director of DA RFO IVA) shared his warm greetings in a video message.

“Bilang mga bayani (ating mga magsasaka) na patuloy na nagsasalba sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas, kailangan po nila ang mga gabay na kagaya ninyong mga LFTs, upang maihatid ang tamang impormasyon at tamang diskarte na kanilang kailangan upang mapataas ang kanilang ani at kita.”

Meanwhile, ATI Calabarzon Center Director, Marites Piamonte-Cosico also expressed her gratitude to the participants, lauding their efforts to learn despite the challenging time.

This training was spearheaded by Partnerships and Accreditation Services Section (PASS) of ATI-Calabarzon, with Mary Grace Leidia, as the Project Officer.
