SAN LUIS, Batangas – For more than three (3) decades, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continuously delivers extension services to farmers, fishers and stakeholders. Year 2020 marks the 33rd anniversary of ATI.
With the theme, “ATIng Paglingap,” ATI CaLaBaRZon proved companionship through an outreach program for the victims of Taal Volcano eruption. The activity is in part of ATI CaLaBaRZon’s commemoration of the Institute’s 33rd anniversary.
ATI CaLaBaRZon distributed relief packages to the evacuees from Taal, San Nicolas, Agoncillo and Lemery currently residing in two (2) evacuation centers in Brgy. Abiacao and Brgy. San Isidro, San Luis, Batangas. About 500 families affected by the Taal Volcano eruption received hygiene kits (towel, shampoo, bath soap, detergent, pail, dipper, toothpaste and toothbrush), beddings (comforter and banig) and clothes. Evacuees holds for hope despite the effect of the volcanic eruption. “Seven (7) days na kami dito. Simula noong pumutok ang Bulkan (Taal). Nag start na kami mag evacuate kasi yung ashfall delikado sa mga bata kaya dito kami napapunta (Brgy. San Isidro). Ang inaalala namin kung paano makaka-move on ang Batangas. Sisikaping makabangon para makabawi,” thoughts of Ms. Shiela Magsumbol, 43 yrs. old, an evacuee from Lemery, Batangas.
ATI CaLaBaRZon expresses gratitude to our extension partners and suppliers for the generosity in providing cash and in-kind donations for ATIng Palingap’s outreach activity held on January 21, 2020 in San Luis, Batangas. ATI CaLaBaRZon continues extending aid along with National College of Science and Technology (NCST), Dasmariñas, Cavite through repacking of relief goods on January 24, 2020.
