LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CaLaBaRZon started the series of Information Caravan on Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) through a Regional Info Caravan at Ouan’s The Farm Resort, Lucena City, Quezon on September 24, 2019 followed by a Provincial Info Caravan at Municipal Covered Court, Victoria, Laguna on September 25, 2019.
The 6-part series aims to disseminate information about RCEF to the rice Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and Farmer Cooperative Association (FCA) key officials of the 38 municipalities from Cavite, Laguna, and Quezon province. With this, the implementing agencies of RCEF presented their roles on RCEF and served as the panel for an open forum.
The agencies present during the Regional Info Caravan were Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) represented by Mr. Adrastus T. Gesmundo, PhilRice represented by Ms. Jacqueline Canilao, and LandBank represented by Ms. Maribeth S. Mascariña. For the Provincial Info Caravan, TESDA was represented by Ms. Evangeline Plazo, PhilRice was represented by Ms. Pamela Jean D. Alborida, LandBank was represented by Ms. Leann Decena, and PhilMech was represented by Ms. Josephine Valdez.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rolando Cuasay and Ms. Josephine Braganza represented the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) IV-A and discussed some basic information that are necessary for the RCEF Programs.
The open forum gave way for the clarification of information that are crucial for the beneficiaries of the program. The basic requirements for the individual farmers and farmer groups were highlighted during the event, especially the farmer’s registration to the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA). Also, the participants were able to know the benefits they can get from the four programs of RCEF, namely Seed Program, Mechanization Program, Credit Program, and Extension Program.
Moreover, there are four remaining Provincial Caravans for the series to be held on October 1, 2, 3, and 8, 2019.
