Samahan ng Organikong Industriya ng Laguna (SOIL) members conducts practical farm inspection during the Training on Internal Control System on May 28 - 31, 2019.
STA. MARIA, LAGUNA - In compliance to third party certification, the Samahan ng Organikong Industriya ng Laguna or SOIL, headed by Ms. Suzette Sales, completed the Training on Internal Control System (ICS) on May 28 - 31, 2019 in this municipality. The three-day training aims to provide the requirements and guidelines for the installation of ICS.
Some 27 members of SOIL participated in the activity. Dr. Rafael Barroso, an Organic Agriculture (OA) Consultant and Ms. Frene dela Cruz of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist in Laguna provided lecture by sharing their expertise about the topic. Aside from discussion, the participants performed a practical farm inspection at Sweet Nature Farm in Brgy. Macasipac, Sta. Maria, Laguna. Highlight of the activity include the crafting of their operating manual which serves as a guide in their farm operations conforming to the standards stipulated in the Philippine National Standards on OA. Mr. Marlon P. Tobias, Provincial Agriculturist of Laguna and Dir. Lucia A. Campomanes, Regional Focal Person of DA – Regional Field Office IV-A also graced the activity.
