SAN PABLO CITY, LAGUNA - Starting up the livestock activities with a buzz, the Agricultural Training Institute Region IVA in coordination with the Provincial Veterinary Offices of Calabarzon conducted the second batch of Training on Apiculture on April 1 - 5, 2019 at Ato Belen’s Farm in this city. In the five-day training, 17 livestock extension workers and eight (8) farmer leaders from the five provinces of Calabarzon actively engaged in a fun-filled discussion and hands-on activities like transferring feral colonies into TPH boxes and splitting of established hives.
As additional learning, the 25 participants visited two Learning Sites on Agriculture wherein they learned tips on how to manage honey bees and their by-products.
The Training on Apiculture aims to provide the basic knowledge and skills on beekeeping or apiculture.
