TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - ATI Region IV-A headed the two (2) activities, the Regional Consultative Workshop for Provincial Agriculture Offices, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and the 1st Quarter Regional Agriculture Fisheries Extension Network (RAFEN) Meeting on March 7 and 8, 2019, respectively at ATI Region IV-A Training Hall in this city.
Ms. Marites P. Cosico, ATI Region IV-A Center Director, led the program with her welcome remarks and emphasized to reach the bar higher in delivering excellent AFE services in the region. Mr. Angelo Hernandez, ATI Region IV-A Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, presented the Center’s 2018 Accomplishments, while 2019 Activities were delivered in each banner program.
A total of 27 participants attended the said activity, comprising of Provincial Agriculturists and Veterinarians, State Universities and Colleges and Agricultural Program Coordinating Officers (APCO) in each province: APCO-Cavite, Ms. Eda Dimapilis; APCO-Batangas, Mr. Fidel Libao; and APCO-Rizal Ms. Maria Cribe.
Meanwhile, RAFEN meeting was attended by fifteen (15) National Government Agencies in the region, namely, Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), Department of Agriculture(DA-RFO 4), Department of Tourism (DOT), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), Philippine Carabao Center-UPLB (PCC-UPLB), Fertilizers and Pesticides Authority (FPA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), Department of Agrarian Reform(DAR), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), National Dairy Authority (NDA), Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC), and Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), represented by PCA Regional Manager Atty. Andrew Ian Edrada. RAFEN aims to unite the provinces to strengthen the Agriculture and Fisheries Extension (AFE) networks in the region.
