TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - Some extension, farm partners in the region showcased their best products for the ATI Regional Training Center IV-A's celebration of the Institute's 32nd anniversary.
Hundreds of agriculture enthusiasts and agricultural extension workers from nearby municipalities to as far as Tayabas City, Quezon flocked to the Center's complex to buy local products and attend the lined-up activities on January 29-30, 2019.
Some of the products sold in the event are: Uma Verde Econature Farm's native pork longganisa, Paras Integrated Farm's crispy mushroom and fruit wine, Costales Nature Farm's fresh salad and vinaigrette, DV Boer's garments, Vilela's Farm's planting materials and sugarcane juice, and Teofely's native pork products.
Walk-ins also got the chance to attend short talks with demonstration on natural feed formulation for native pig production, capsulizing herbs and spices by creative propagation techniques, herbal soap making, and "Angas" beef cooking demonstration. The lecture on Urban Gardening, a free seminar offering for the year also coincided in the event.
A second-timer attendee of ATI IV-A's free seminar series, Ms. Paulita Marina Astillero talked about her experience in attending the urban gardening seminar and ATI's anniversary celebration.
"Malaking bagay ang aming pag-participate para makatulong in our little way during our retiring years. At least makatulong kami and ma-apply namin ang aming natutunan."
Astillero is a member of CF4RM or Centro Filipino for Returning Migrants, an organization that focuses on alleviating the condition of returning migrants and their families and contribute to the development and transformation of their communities and the society.
She brought 16 other members of CF4RM with her to learn more on how to maximize the organization's 200sqm garden in Dasmariñas City. "Sana sa susunod na anniversary ng ATI IV-A, isa na kami sa exhibitors" Astillero shared.
Other activities that added colour to the festive event were: recognition of the Center's Loyalty Service awardees, oath taking of newly appointed employees and motorcade in the city.
2019 marks the first year of the regional training centers to commemorate the Institute's founding anniversary in their respective regions.
