FITS Center to cater to farmers, fisher folks in Patnanungan

PATNANUNGAN, Quezon- It was a meaningful and memorable day for farmers and fisher folks in the municipality as they complete the training on Farm Business School (FBS) under the AGRIBUHAY (AGRIkultura and KaBUHAYan) project of the ATI Regional Training Center (RTC) IV-A alongside the Farmers’ Information Technology Services (FITS) Center launching.

The FBS aimed to equip the farmers the necessary knowledge and skills to produce more profitable agricultural crops in the market. "Kinakailangan na ang ating mga naka-tiwangwang na lupa ay ating bungkalin at pagyamanin. Turuan po natin ang ating mga kapit-bahay at kamag-anak" challenged Mayor Roderick M. Larita to the participants.

Shortly after, the participants witnessed the unveiling of the FITS Center led by the Chief of Information Services Section of ATI RTC IV-A Dr. Rolando V. Maningas and Hon. Roderick M. Larita, Local Chief Exeutive of Patnanungan, Quezon. The FITS Center is an information and technology delivery service facility aimed at improving access of farmers, traders, processors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to information and technologies in agriculture and natural resources. It also provides IEC materials and responds to client’s needs in terms of technology clinic.

The highlight of the program was the MOA signing with the LGU. The two ATI RTC IV-A-led events were held on October 5, 2018 in this municipality.
