STA. CRUZ, Laguna – Through the partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute CaLaBaRZon, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist – Laguna initiated the implementation of Farmers Field School (FFS) on Organic Tilapia Production. Some 26 fisher folks from various barangays in Sta. Cruz, Laguna were equipped with knowledge on Organic Aquaculture. The FFS on Organic Tilapia Production effected from January to April 2018.

“Marami po akong natutunan at ito po ay ibabahagi ko sa aking mga ka-barangay para mas lalo pang mapalago ang industriya ng tilapia sa bayan ng Sta. Cruz," shared with gratitude by one of the participants from the training. Mr. Ernesto Jara, resource speaker, imparted adequate information on tilapia culture and organic aquaculture, fish supplements, organic feeds preparation and harvesting and post-harvesting operations.
