TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - In celebration of the National Organic Agriculture (OA) month this November, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON initiated an online quiz bee for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) in the region entitled as “Search for Ekstensyonistang OA”. A total of 20 AEWs from Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon province participated in the quiz bee contest.

Scope of the quiz bee included the Philippine National Standards (PNS) on OA, OA Act of 2010 or Republic Act (RA) 10068 and current events. Mr. Vicente D. Limsan, Jr., Science Research Specialist II of Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS), Ms. Eda F. Dimapilis, Regional OA Focal Person of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) IV-A and Mr. Philip Reyes, OA consultant served as the arbiters.

The Search for Ekstensyonistang OA consisted of three (3) rounds: easy, average and difficult. Contestant with the highest points bagged the very first Ekstensyonistang OA.

The top five (5) winners of Search for Ekstensyonistang OA 2020 are:

Ekstensyonistang OA 2020: Madeliene Pelipada - Calamba City, Laguna
1st place: Ivy Bacud - Sta. Maria, Laguna
2nd place: Reymasan Garcia - Antipolo City, Rizal
3rd place: May Ann Villa - Imus City, Cavite
4th place: Aiza Recahuerta - Binangonan, Rizal

The winners will receive cash prize, medal and certificate of recognition from ATI CALABARZON.

The online quiz bee was held on November 19, 2020 via google meet.
