TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – To create widespread awareness on Organic Agriculture (OA), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CaLaBaRZon in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) Region IV-A held the Search for Batang OA for senior high school students on September 29, 2018 in this city. Twenty-three (23) schools from the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon participated in the activity.
The Search for Batang OA 2018 is an agricultural quiz bee intended for the senior high school students in CaLaBaRZon region. The quiz bee was divided into three rounds – elimination, semi-final and final round. In the elimination round, each participant was provided a questionnaire consisting of 30 questions. With a timeframe of 30 minutes, 30 students with the highest score continued to the second round of elimination through multiple choice-type questions. Only 10 students moved to the semi-final round. While, top five (5) students competed in the final round. At the end of the competition, Ms. Leovylyn Embradura of Gulang-Gulang National Highschool – Ibabang Talim Extension reigned as Batang OA 2018.

5th place: Joseph C. Lorayna - Sta. Catalina Integrated National High School - Laguna
The winners received cash prize, medal and perpetual trophy (for the champion) from ATI CaLaBaRZon.
The quiz bee covered topics on Agriculture Concepts and Legal Aspects, Organic Agriculture Act of 2010, Integrated Diversified Organic Farming Systems, Crops, Livestock and Poultry Production, Philippine National Standards on OA and current events. The Search for Batang OA also aims to boost the number of enrollees in agriculture and agriculture-related courses.
