SINILOAN, Laguna- The Agricultural Training Institute Region IV-A in partnership with the Provincial Veterinary Office of Laguna, Department of Education - Laguna and the Local Government of Siniloan, Laguna launched its pilot school-based Famers’ Field School on Sustainable Pig Faming (FFS-SPF), offshoot at Governor Felicisimo T. San Luis Agro-Industrial Integrated High School last July 11, 2018.
The program was given a new name, "Scientific and Sustainable Swine Farming in School’ or 4S. Like the usual FFS-SPF, some 39 senior high school students who are taking up Agricultural Fishery Arts Strand track will partake in the 16 to 20 weeks discovery-based learning journey. The FFS-SPF module will be integrated to the existing senior high curriculum of the school, a first in the region.
The launching was graced by ATI Region IV-A Center Director, Ms. Marites Piamonte- Cosico, Siniloan Local Chief Executive, Hon. Eduardo R. Tibay, representatives from ProVet-Laguna Ms. Lilibeth Macalagay, DepEd – Laguna, Mr. Lamberto C. Perolina, and Siniloan Municipal Agriculturist, Engr. Carlo Realeza.
