ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal - To provide fast access of information to a wider number of learners, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CaLaBaRZon spearheaded the program launching of School on Air (SOA) on Organic Agriculture (OA), dubbed as “Talakayang Organiko sa Rizal," on June 27, 2019 at Antipolo City Conference Hall, 3rd floor, Victory Park and Shop in this city.
About 150 attendees from Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) Rizal, Agricultural Program Coordinating Office (APCO) and City/Municipal Agriculture Offices including farmer representatives participated in the event.
Dr. Reynaldo L. Bonita, Provincial Agriculturist of Rizal, encouraged the learners to actively engage in the program, “Dapat bigyan natin ng kaalaman at karunungan ang ating mga magsasaka kung paano isasagawa ang tamang pamamaraan sa pagpapatupad ng Organic Agriculture. Magsisimula ang programa ng July 19, 2019 at tatagal ng labing-apat na linggo. Inaasahan namin ang pakikiisa at partisipasyon ninyo.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, Chief of Information Services Section of ATI CaLaBaRZon discussed the elements of SOA including the list of topics and date of airings of Talakayang Organiko sa Rizal. Topics cover Overview of OA and Principles, Trends in OA/Updates, Republic Act 10068 – OA Act of 2010, Integrated Diversified Organic Farming System (IDOFS), to name a few. Open forum also highlighted the program to address the inquiries of the farmers.
SOA on OA will soon hit the airwaves on July 19, 2019 to October 18, 2019, every Friday, from 11:20 am until 11:50 am, through, 702 DZAS AM.Some 500 farmers of Rizal province will benefit from the program.
