ATI@Home Focuses on Value-Added Products of Extension Partner Farms

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The Agricultural Technologies thru Internet at Home also known as ATI@Home is an innovation by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region IV-A which features live seminars about Urban Agriculture via online channels. It creates opportunities for the online participants/farming enthusiasts to become more productive even in this time of health crisis.

The program was originally launched last April 2020 but due to its success, the Center launched a new kind of ATI@Home series which focuses on featuring Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA’s) signature products which provide nutritious food for their families and at the same time generate additional income while enjoying comforts of their homes.

For this year ATI@Home will feature five out of 105 farm partners of the Center composing of 90 Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA’s), seven (7) School for Practical Agriculture, three (3) Extension Service Partners, and five (5) RCEF Learning Sites for Agriculture.

For the third episode of ATI@Home Learning Site for Agriculture Product Series entitled “GATAS,” it features one of the certified Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) of ATI Calabarzon, FarmShare Prime which is located in the town of Cavinti, Laguna. FarmShare was established in 2017 by three friends who were in college, with a goal to sustain the agriculture industry and contribute to the growing demands of food sources.

The webinar focused on the basic production and processing of various dairy products were their farm also raises awareness on goat production, and engages in processing of dairy products from cattle, for various clientele.

One of the registered participants, Mr. Angelo Jhon A. Aquino of Infanta, Quezon shared his insight about the activity.

“Saktong sakto sa oras saka maliwanag po. Very informative kahit yung mga basic [information] lang about sa milk. Interested tuloy ako mag agri tourism farm, saka sa dairy and mga large ruminant. Sana makapag train/seminar ako actual sa farm sa Cavinti para kasama rin matutunan gumawa ng yugart. Overall maganda po ang mga ganto webinar ng ATI pwede ko rin mai-share ang knowledge at info na ganito sa ibang friends ko at mga farmers na interested.”

Ms. Janice B. Solis from Oriental Mindoro also shared her insight, “Very informative and useful to all participants. Hope you'll continue this kind of webinar even we are in the current situation of this pandemic. Thank you and Godbless!”

It was aired last May 24, 2021 and peak viewers at 79 on the Official Facebook page of ATICalabarzon and 45 peak views on ATI Calabarzon AgriStudio YouTube channel.
