Stories of Successful Farmers To Inspire More Agri-Enthusiasts and Other Farmers

TAYABAS, Quezon - Keeping in mind the farmers’ philosophy; “To see is to believe,” the Agricultural Training Institute in CaLaBaRZon underscores the importance of documenting farmers’ best practices and success stories in Training Course on Video Documentation of Success Stories.

“Bilang ISS at isang extension worker, napakahalaga ng training na ito sa amin upang mas maipakita at makapag-bigay inspirasyon sa aming mga clients sa pamamagitan ng success stories na kanilang mapapanood” shares Ms. Maria Rosario Ignacio, an Information Service Specialist from FITS (Farmers Information and Technology Services) Center in Gumaca, Quezon.

Ignacio along with 23 FITS staff in CaLaBaRZon produced a 5-minute success story video of selected outstanding farmers in Quezon province. The video is the final output [per FITS Center] from the five-day training course. The participants experienced a full video documentation starting from a Pre-Production which includes conceptualization, scriptwriting, preparing the video production equipment; Production which covers the interview and photo/video shoot; and Post-Production which entails the organization of video clips, video editing and cinematography.

With the new skills set, the FITS ISS and TSS are expected to produce success stories of their Magsasaka Siyentista within the year. Through the Information Services Section of ATI Region IV-A, the Center continues to inspire more agriculture enthusiasts towards, entrepreneurship, farm business school and agri-tourism and communicate the results of Extension programs of the Institute through knowledge products in various formats.
