CATANAUAN, QUEZON – To efficiently provide the needs of the potential learners on School on the Air (SOA) on High Value Crops (HVC) in Bondoc Peninsula (BonPen), Quezon, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CaLaBaRZon facilitated a consultative meeting on April 23, 2018 in this municipality. Municipal Agriculturists and Agricultural Technologists in BonPen attended the activity.
“We will be doing another batch of SOA dito. Nakapag-SOA na tayo dito sa area ng BonPen three years ago sa corn. Yung mga difficulties noon with regards sa implementation ng SOA, somehow ngayon medyo nag-improve na. We hope na madala sa mga nangangailangan itong project,” as addressed by Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, Information Services Section Chief, during the consultative meeting. Jamila Monette B. Balmeo, in-charge of SOA HVCDP, presented a brief overview of SOA along with the agenda. Possible radio station, day and time of airing were considered during the meeting. Target number of learners for the 12 municipalities was also agreed. Moreover, lined-up of topics and radio teachers were filled. Topics focused mainly on four commodities: cacao,calamansi, ubi and banana as these are the major crops abundant in BonPen area. Experts from different offices and agencies will be invited as radio teachers. The program will air for four months.
SOA HVC covers the municipalities of Agdangan, Buenavista, Catanauan, General Luna, Macalelon, Mulanay, Padre Burgos, Pitogo, San Andres, San Francisco, San Narciso and Unisan in Quezon province. Launching will be on June 19, 2018 in Catanauan, Quezon. SOA HVC will soon hit the wave with the theme, “Unlad Saka: Isang Radyo Eskwela sa Bondoc Peninsula.”
