CAVITE- A graduate of BS Agricultural Engineering from Sta. Maria Laguna qualified for MAYA (Mentoring and Attracting Youth in Agriculture) internship program of the Department of Agriculture through Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Regional Training Center - CALABARZON in coordination with the DA- Bureau of Agricultural Research.
Mr. Joenel M. Alvarez will undergo a six-month internship program that aims to develop a young cadre of youth agribusiness leaders that are market-ready, have the necessary skill sets capabilities and commitment to excellence with the right attitude to ensure success that will ultimately benefit the stakeholders, especially the farmers, fishers, and the consuming public.
For the first two months, Alvarez will be immersed in ATI CALABARZON to experience the government work culture and management and learn about values formation and work ethics. He is also set to complete a 10-day training on Farm Business School and get training from selected staff of the RTC about the mandate and programs of the DA and agricultural technologies.
The next four months will be devoted to experience-based exposure on agricultural management at the selected accredited Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) and Extension Service Providers (ESPs) of ATI, namely, Uma Verde Eco Farm in Candelaria, Quezon, MoCA Family Farm, Padre Garcia, Batangas, Terra Verde Nature Farm, Maragondon, Cavite and Farm Share Prime at Cavinti, Laguna.
Alvarez is expected to complete the internship program this September 2021.
