Magsasaka Siyentista officers commit to strengthen the organization

Regional President of Magsasaka Siyentista in CALABARZON, Ms. Agripina R. Ochoa addressed the other officers during the opening program of the activity.

MAGDALENA, Laguna- To strengthen the organization and craft the 2019-2021 activities of the association, "Samahan ng Magsasaka Siyentista ng Techno Gabay Program sa Region IV-A" (SMSTGP-IVA) in collaboration with Agricultural Training Institute Region IV-A spearheaded the "Magsasaka Siyentista: Leaders in Innovative and Progressive Agriculture."

The activity aims to revisit the roles and functions of the MS in the Techno Gabay Program: a.) serve as Resource Speaker in TGP activities, b.) showcase science and technology innovations in the farm, c.) test and apply the technologies learned from seminars and cross visits, and d.) provide farmer-to-farmer advisory service.

Resource speakers from ATI IV-A, Mr. Ric Jason T. Arreza discussed Situational Leadership while Dr. Franklin Bel T. Isip imparted his expertise on organizational development. Moreover, Mr. Roy Roger D. Victoria II explained the role of the association in Rural-Based Organization (RBO).

Ms. Agripina R. Ochoa from Farmers’ Information and Technology Service (FITS) Center- Magdalena, Laguna as the newly-elected President of the SMSTGP-IVA, presided the business meeting which aimed to create plan and activities of the association.

Currently, the association has 74 members. The activity was held at Agrie’s Integrated Farm, Magdalena, Laguna last March 14-15, 2019.
