ATI IV-A promotes value adding and processing of high value crops

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - In celebration of Women’s Month this March and a back-to-back free seminar on hydroponics, ATI Region IV-A conducted Free Seminar on Value Adding and Processing on High Value Crops (HVC) on March 6, 2019 at ATI Region IV-A Training Hall in this city.

Three (3) of certified Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) were among the presenters of the one-day free seminar on Value Adding and Processing on HVC. Mr. Eduardo B. Cleofe of Luntiang Republika Eco Farms demonstrated herbal soap making using farm available materials. On the other hand, Ms. Jessica Castillo of Beegod Agriventures discussed beeswax processing including ointment balm. While on the afternoon session, Ms. Normina Perez of Laly’s Farm Ville shared her practices in processing of talong atsara (pickled eggplant) and juice making. Some of which are kale juice and arugula juice processing. Moreover, participants tasted the freshly made juices.

“Dito ko nakita sa ATI CaLaBaRZon yung tunay na pagmamahal ng isang speaker dahil hindi sila maramot i-share ang mga sikreto nila. Malaking pasasalamat ko talaga sa ATI. Umuwi man ako sa ng Bicol, lahat ng natutunan ko na tinuro ng mga speakers ay i-share ko sa mga farmers,” Ms. Nora Ramos, one of the participants from Bicol Region, expressing his deep gratitude towards the Center.
