Making Change Work for Women: Training on Livestock Production

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna - In celebration of the women’s month, the Agricultural Training Institute Region IV-A in collaboration with the Provincial Veterinary Office of Laguna conducted the five-day “Training on Livestock Production for Women." The activity was participated by 25 women farmer and Livestock Extension Workers from the different municipalities in this province.

The activity aims to provide alternative and improved technologies on livestock production. As part of the training, the participants were given inputs on the simple production of free-range chicken, Sustainable Pig Farming, and goat production, and a hands-on activity on post-production technology.

The closing program was graced by Senator Cynthia A. Villar, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Food and Agriculture. In her message, she emphasized, “Palagi ninyong tataandaan na kayo bilang maliliit na famers ang siyang nagpapakain sa ating mundo.

The training was held on March 5 – 9, 2018 in this city.
