TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – With the demands for fast access of up-to date agriculture and agriculture-related information and knowledge, 30 Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) and Extension Service Provider (ESP) partners of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CaLaBaRZon completed the "Training Course on Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Materials for ATI Partners." Participants learned techniques and skills in producing posters and brochures as part of the farm’s IEC resources. With these new strategies, ATI partners will be a channel in providing updated information on products, services and technologies offered and applied in the farm to their clients.

“Sa training na ito, tinuruan kami maging adept sa technology para mas maganda yung ating produce kasi mas makakagawa tayo ng publication or better info dissemination para sa ating farmers. Truly, ang ATI ay pinanindigan niya, ang ATI CaLaBaRZon, yung pangalan niya as a training Institute," proudly shared by Ms. Nenieveh F. Glinoga, farm owner of Glinoga Organic Farms and one of the certified LSA of ATI CaLaBaRZon.

The three-day training on IEC Materials Design and Development for ATI Partners focused on imparting knowledge and expertise in designing and developing printed IEC materials, a one-page brochure and poster.

Pool of experts from Brighttank Inc., Ms. Mary Loreneen E. Ordoño, Writer and Mr. Alvin Joseph Abdon, Graphic Designer trained the participants on content writing and lay out, respectively. Ms. Ordoño talked about the types and purposes of IEC materials, while Mr. Abdon discussed basic photography, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

Participants presented their well-developed one-page brochure and poster (content and lay out) as output of the activity. Ms. Mariel Celeste C. Dayanghirang, Assistant Center Director and Mr. Roy Roger D. Victoria II served as panel, critiquing the content and design.

"Ang mga training ng ATI talagang nilalapit yung family sa farm. I-a-adopt ko lahat ng tinuro. Ang dami nang na-update lalo na nabigay ang training na ito for advertising. Sa nakikita ko yung mga trainings talagang nakaka-motivate sya, isang inspiration,” expressed Reyson Ramos, Farm Cooperator of Brookside Hills Leisure Farm, one of ATI's certified LSA.

The Training on IEC Materials Design and Development for ATI Partners was held on February 13 – 15, 2019 at ATI CALABARZON training hall, Brgy. Lapidario, Trece Martires City, Cavite. It aimed to equip the participants with knowledge and skills in designing and developing poster and brochure. As partners of ATI, LSA and ESP portray an important role in the development of the agriculture sector.
