DA-ATI pushes for sustainable swine farming with FFS-SPF

BATANGAS CITY- In support to one of the goals of the Department of Agriculture in providing safe and quality food through sustainable farming. The Agricultural Training Institute Region IV A in partnership with the Provincial Veterinary Office of Batangas held its Farmers’ Field School on Sustainable Pig Farming Mass Graduation last February 23, 2018 at the Provincial Sport Complex , Batangas City.

One hundred forty four (144) participants graduated the 20 week long Farm School from Agoncillo, Cuenca, Nasugbu, Talisay and Tuy, Batangas. the FFS-SPF aims to provide farmers not only specific technical skills but also with organizational skills; plus the required knowledge and competence to make them experts in pig farming. In addition, the FFS will give farmers the opportunity to learn, inform and be updated on the latest technologies and breakthroughs in swine production. The objective of the project is to be able to provide and alternative and sustainable swine raising technology.
