SAN ANDRES, Quezon- Aimed to provide fast access of up-to-date agriculture and agriculture-related information and knowledge, the Farmers' Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in San Andres, Quezon was launched last January 28, 2019.
Situated 128 kilometers east-southeast of the provincial capitol of Quezon, the municipality of San Andres is the 12th FITS Center established in the province. It will cater to farmers, fisher folks, students and other stakeholders of San Andres and its nearby municipalities.
To signify commitment of the Local Government of San Andres, ATI IV-A, and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist-Quezon, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed during the launching alongside the unveiling and ribbon cutting of the newly established FITS Center.
ATI IV-A Techno Gabay Program Regional Coordinator Dr. Rolando V. Maningas shared that the FITS Center will provide information and technical services through Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools such as IRRI Rice Doctor and Rice Crop Manager (RCM).
FITS Center San Andres, Quezon is the 55th FITS Center in the region.
