Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan – Over the past years, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1) has been a partner of different State Universities and Colleges in honing and molding undergraduate students pursuing agriculture-related courses through internship program.

On June 27, 2022, seven (7) students from the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) taking up Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) started their first day of on-the-job training. During the flag raising ceremony of the same day, they were introduced to the ATI-RTC 1 staff and given brief orientation, afterwards.

The OJTs will render a total of 33 days or equivalent to 260 hours of training and will be deployed under rotational basis at the sections and unit of the Center, namely Career Development and Management Services Section (CDMSS); Partnerships and Accreditation Services Section (PASS); Information Services Section (ISS); and Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Services Unit (PMESU).

Part of their training program is to expose them with the operations of the Center, specifically to make them familiarize with the different programs and services; proper engagement with the Institute’s stakeholders and clienteles; and appropriate work etiquette in an organization. In general, ATI-RTC 1 will serve as a training ground for the students that provide a practical learning avenue.
