Adopt-a-Farm Youth Program Batch 8 is On

BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte - The Launching of the Adopt-a-Farm Youth Program Batch 8 that was held at the ATI-RTC I Satellite Training Center, Tabug, Batac City, Ilocos Norte last June 28, 2018 was a success. Five 4-H’ers from Region I namely Mr. Leomar John Zambrano from San Maximo, Natividad, Pangasinan; Mr. Errol Glenn Caras, from Cabarsican, San Fernando City, La Union; Mr. Joseph Uclos from Cabaroan, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur; Ms. Princess Mae Sarandi from Maananteng, Solsona, Ilocos Norte; and Ms. Vaneza Ibus from Garnaden, Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte were chosen by ATI-RTC I to participate in the said program.

The program was intended to train and empower in-school or out-of-school youth by developing their farming skills and exposing them in hands-on training on farming. This year, the selected 4-H’ers need to accomplish the 40 days intensive home-stay training with their Host Farmers and Learning Site Cooperators, Mr. Benny Aguinaldo of Aguinaldo’s Farm in Vintar, Ilocos Norte and Mr. Jonathan Sony Domingo of JDS Farm in Solsona, Ilocos Norte .

During the launching program, ATI-RTC I Center Director, Dr. Rogelio C. Evangelista, expressed his appreciation to the five participants and their coordinators for making the activity possible. He assured the trainees that the training will help them improve their knowledge and skills in agriculture. He also added that if they will patiently and enthusiastically go through the program, they will make it to international trainings like the Young Filipino Farmers Training in Japan.
