SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Aiming to achieve efficiency and productivity in the delivery of extension services in the region, DA-RFO I and ATI-RTC I thru the Banner Program Coordinators and ATI Focal Persons as well as the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division have set one direction of their 2018 Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs). This was done in a one-day Harmonization Workshop at DA-RFO I, San Fernando City, La Union on January 23, 2018.

The one-on-one encounter of the DA-Banner Program Coordinators and ATI-Focal Persons discussed their respective programs to address schedules, area of coverage, modification of title of activities and integration of similar targets to avoid duplication of similar intervention to the same clients. This initiative aimed at creating greater impact and more clienteles served in the farming communities.
One of the highlights of the activity was the commitment gained from both groups as they have identified the individual support and assistance in each of the projects and activities.

Meanwhile, ATI-RTC I being the lead agency of the Regional Agriculture and Fishery Extension Network I (RAFEN I) was able to solicit intervention and strengthen the support of DA-RFO I after Dr. Melinda F. Mangabat, Assistant Center Director and RAFEN Focal Person presented the program entitled “Timpuyog Idiay Away, Dur-As Inna Iburay / Damayan sa Barangay, Ginhawa Ibibigay.”

Moreover, Regional Executive Director Lucrecio R. Alviar expressed his appreciation to DA-RFO I and ATI-RTC I for the initiative. “I am glad that you have started assessing 2017 na pinagsamahan natin. Kasi kung titignan mo dun what happened during the 2017, ano yung weakness natin, ano yung strength natin in the course of preparing our directions for 2018 abd 2019. I mean we have to look back for 2017, maligaya ba ang mga clients natin? What is important when we say harmonization ay maiwasan sana natin yung pagpapaligsahan na it would lead to inefficiency dahil nagkadoble-doble yung mga activities instead of putting our resources together.”, Director Alviar said in his message.

ATI-RTC I Center Director, Dr. Rogelio C. Evangelista, Assistant Center Director, Dr. Melinda F. Mangabat, Section Chiefs of Career Development and Management Services, Partnership and Accreditation Services, and Information Services also graced the occasion.
