Congratulations, Dacuycuy and Lomboy!

The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) is proud to announce that two of its ESP (extension service provider) partners received the 2017 Lakbay Bukid Award – an honor given to the leaders and innovators who have changed the Philippine farm tourism industry for the better.

Ms. Editha Dacuycuy, owner of the Rare Eagles Forest Marine and Agricultural Development Ventures in Brgy. Paayas, Burgos Ilocos Norte, and Mr. Avelino Lomboy, founder of the Lomboy Farms in Brgy. Urayong, Bauang, La Union were among the four 2017 Lakbay Bukid Awardees in the 5th Farm Tourism Conference and Festival held at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City last October.

The Pioneers and Innovators in the Philippine Farm Tourism Industry (PIPFTI) recognized Dacuycuy and Lomboy’s contribution in the development of the marriage between tourism and agriculture. According to PIPFTI, these people have pushed for the growth of the industry. Their actions have not just impacted the community of farm tourism operators, but encouraged others to be part of it.
