NUEVA ERA and SOLSONA, Ilocos Norte - The Agricultural Training Institute-RTC I awarded P20,000 enhancement support to Joysen A. Bumanglag, owner of JAB’s FARM in Barangay Naguilian, Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte and P80,000 to Jonathan Sony C. Domingo, owner of JSD FARM in Barangay. Mariquet, Solsona, Ilocos Norte on October 2, 2017.
According to Director Rogelio Evangelista of ATI-RTC I, the fund awarded to the farm owners will be used to enhance innovations in their farms which will provide farmers, students, out-of-school-youths and tourists a more conducive learning environment.
In an interview with Mr. Bumanglag, he expressed his gratitude towards the Municipal Local Government of Nueva Era and ATI for the opportunity given to further develop his farm.
“Ang ATI, maraming proyektong ipinapatupad na talagang nakatutulong sa mga magsasaka pati na rin sa mga kabataan. Kung hindi dahil sa mga proyektong ito, hindi ko mapapalago ang aking farm” he said. He also encourages other out-of-school-youths to invest in agricultural activities, especially in organic farming. “Isa pang magandang naidudulot ng pag-lalaan ng oras sa pagtatanim ay mailalayo ka nito sa mga di magagandang bisyo”, he added.
The awarding ceremonies were held in each respective municipality in the presence of ATI-RTC I Heads and Staff. For Nueva Era, Mayor Caroline A. Garvida, Vice Mayor Aldrin R. Garvida, Municipal Agriculturist Rufino Corpuz, and Sangguniang Bayan Representatives were present while Solsona Mayor Hon. Alexander A. Calucag, and Municipal Agriculturist Ranison Narciso and staff also graced the activity.
