ATI-RTC 1 spearheads Training on Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS)

The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 conducted Training on Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards on November 3-5, 2021 at ATI-RTC 1 Satellite Training Center, Brgy. Tabug, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte.

A total of 16 Livestock Coordinators from the province of Ilocos Norte were able to determine appropriate livestock interventions during emergency in their own respective areas of operation.

Introduction to Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standard, Livestock and Livelihoods in the humanitarian context, and Introduction to the LEGS Handbook; Participation and initial assessment were discussed during the three-day training. Moreover, series of lecture discussion and workshop on Analysis of technical interventions and options 1 & 2, Monitoring and Response Planning were done.

The training was led by Agriculturist I and Project Officer, Shiela Sipisip-Corpuz and supported by the Provincial Veterinary Office through Dr. Loida M. Valenzuela who acted as Resource Person, and Raecielle Joyce O. Calaoagan as Technical Support Staff.

With the continuous fight of the region against African Swine Fever, and other diseases in the livestock industry, ATI-RTC 1 ensures to support interventions in minimizing the extent of it and make the citizens aware of the existence of the diseases.
