ATI-RTC 1 spearheads Training on BAHW

BINALONAN, PANGASINAN - The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 spearheaded the Training on Animal Health Care Management for Barangay Animal Health Workers (BAHW) Batch 2 at Brgy. Sta. Maria, Binalonan, Pangasinan on June 22-24, 2021. The three-day training aimed to perform basic animal health care practices.

A total of 27 farmers and barangay officials were assigned in committee on agriculture as participants. On the first day, Lecture-discussions on Husbandry Practices and African Swine Fever was delivered by Dr. Arcely Robeniol, Veterinarian of the Fourth Congressional District of Pangasinan. Mrs. Shiela S. Corpuz, Agriculturist I/Livestock Point Person of ATI-RTC 1, also discussed the Roles of Barangay Animal Health Workers and the discussion on Process Flow of Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting was delivered by Mr. Jefferson Ferrer.

On the second day of the training, the participants provided their services at Barangay Camangaan, Binalonan, Pangasinan with the supervision of Dr.. Arcely G. Robeniol and the technical management team. All of them individually performed the proper restraining of cattle, vitamins, and deworming administration, castration, anti-rabies vaccination and filling out necessary forms. The farmer clients of the said barangay appreciated the community service activity.

"Thank you so much ATI for providing such training. This is very relevant at present since we are suffering from ASF and other threatening diseases. To my co-participants, let’s do this all together to achieve quality livestock productivity in our municipality,” Mr. Michael Oximas encouraged his co-participants.
