ATI-RTC 1 conducted the first ever AGRITALK 2021: Pagpaparami ng Rabbit Gawing Habit, tugon sa kakulangan ng Karne, ATIng Makakamit last May 31-June 2, 2021 through Facebook Livestream with the aim to provide seminar on rabbit production as alternative livestock and support the Department of Agriculture’s campaign on the issues of scarcity of meat produce in the country.
With the support of the National Livestock Program, the center accommodated 233 participants through livestream. Mr. Marjohn Sante, Manager of Pangasinan Rabbit Raisers Cooperative and Sante Rabbitry in Brgy. Primicias, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan served as the resource speaker of the activity. He discussed about Rabbit Meat Production on the first day, Putting Up Self-Sustain Rabbitry while Expanding the Rabbit Population on the second day, and Marketability of Meat Produce on the third day. He was also able to tour the participants virtually at Sante Rabbitry after the discussion. The participants learned a lot through question and answers and discussions that were provided. It gained the highest interactions and numbers of individuals reached in the first quarter of the ATI Ilocos Region Page. “Thank you for the learnings po, gusto ko lang po talaga is pet lang sila but now I have the eagerness na magparami po ng rabbit dahil marami palang maidudulot ng pag-aalaga hindi lamang sa sa pangkalusugan kundi sa mga halaman.” Rhea Llapitan, a participant from Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte shared her insight.
The program was presented by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 1 in partnership with Agriculture Magazine under the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation and Smart Communications where they also aired the AGRITALK livestream through their facebook pages. The first ever AgriTalk was also done with the combined effort of the Project Officer, Ms. Junelyn Repancol, Asst. Project Officer, Mr. Ralph Marco Cabrera, and the whole Information Services Section under the supervision of Dr. Maricel D. Dacapias, spearheaded by ATI-RTC 1 Center Director, Dr. Rogelio C. Evangelista.
The center will continue to innovate and aim for excellence through keeping the bar raised in information dissemination and serving its clienteles beyond boundaries.
