STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan - Recently, five (5) farmer-cooperators of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) and 1SIKAT (Samahang Itinataguyod ang Kaunlaran ng Agri-Turismo sa Rehiyon Uno, Inc.) members, who finished the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 101 training last year, joined another #KwentongDFP Online Community Contest, and made it to the top 10.
Once more, ATI-RTC I farmer-cooperators, Ms. Lea Astrude Santiago of Our Farm Republic (OFR) in Mangatarem, Pangasinan; Ms. Lilia Cacbay of Cacbay Organic Farm (COFarm) in Alaminos City, Pangasinan; Ms. Vickee Padilla of Agro-Technical Assistance and Livelihood Opportunities in the North, Inc. (AGTALON, Inc.) in Manaoag, Pangasinan; Ms. Ma. Psyche Antonio of Reotutars Garden Farm School Inc. in Mangatarem, Pangasinan; and, Ms. Vilma Corpuz of Paraiso Del Valour in Mangatarem, Pangasinan took the victory in the said DFP online community contest. Six (6) out of the ten winners came from Region I. Five (5) are ATI-RTC I farmer-cooperators/1SIKAT members, and one (1) is from the youth. Each of them received free cellphone load from DFP and Smart Communication Inc.
The following are among the winning entries based on #KwentongDFP posted question on Facebook, “Ano ang ibig sabihin ng responsableng paggamit ng social media?”
1. Ms. Lea Astrude Santiago of OFR: “Think before you click, applies to every social media user. Huwag basta maniwala sa nababasa o nakikita, huwag basta magpost ng kung ano ano lalot kung ito’y hindi naman totoo. Maging mapanuri, piliin kung ito ba’y impormasyon na dapat isiwalat sa publiko o dapat ay pribado. Piliin ang mga salitang gagamitin, lagging maging magalang at huwag padalos dalos sa pagbigay ng opinion o komento.”
2. Ms. Ma. Psyche Antonio of Reotutars Garden Farm School Inc.: “Social media is a tool where we can communicate, we can inquire, we can learn and we can be inspired. Before you post anything see to it that it will encourage and inspire. Responsible use of social media will help us to enhance our knowledge on what is going on around us. We should not use social media to create discord, hatred and fear instead.”
3. Ms. Vilma Corpuz of Paraiso Del Valour: “Responsible use of social media is to know my limitations. Though we have freedom of press and expressions, it doesn’t mean we can just post or comment without thinking of the consequences. For me I use social media as an avenue of learning, teaching, uplifting, encouraging and helping people. Being a responsible user of social media I need also to manage my time and not to over indulge its se that will neglect the things that matters most.”
4. Ms. Vickee Padilla of AGTALON, Inc.: ”(1) Wag magpost ng larawan, video, o magcomment na nagpopromote ng mga fake news at illegal na gawain; (2) Wag magpost ng kahit ano na nakakasira sa privacy ng ibang tao; (3) Wag magshare ng kahit anon a nagpapalaganap ng diskriminasyon, galit o paghihiganti; (4) Mag-ingat sa softwares o apps na puedeng magkalat ng computer virus, malware o pagkasira ng ibang accounts at iba pang paglabag ng cyber security; (5) Mag-ingat sa pagtanggap at paggamit ng mga larawan at artikulo na nakapaloob sa intellectual property rights atbp may copyright o patents; (6) Iwasan ang pagmumura, panlalait, masamang salita at iba pang nakakasira sa iyong imahe, sa pamilya at mga kaibigan at sa yong pinagtatrabahuhan; (7) Panatilihing positibo ang ibabahagi para magdulot ng kabutihan, kapayapaan at pagkakaisa ng buong sangkatauhan.”
5. Ms. Lilia Cacbay of COFarm: “Ang responsableng paggamit ng social media para sa akin ay ang paggamit ng maayos na pananalita sa pag comment at pagrespeto sa ibang gumagamit nito. Dapat makatotohanan lamang ang mga impormasyong ibinibigay at mapanuri din sa reliability ng source ng mga nababasa bago maniwala. Hwag bastabasta mag bukas ng kadudadudang links or websites na nanghihingi ng passwords. Hindi dapat magbigay ng mga importanteng impormasyon na maaaring magamit ng masasamang loob para makaiwas sa scams.”
6. Chevy Balatao Ollibac, Youth from Mangatarem, Pangasinan: “Bago tayo maglike at magshare ng mga post sa fb alamin muna kung saan ang pinanggalingan nito at kung ito ay totoo. Sa pamamagitan nito maiiwasan ang pagkalat ng maling impormasyon o ‘fake news’. Kung hindi tayo mag-iingat magiging tulay tayo sa pagpapakalat ng maling balita at madadamay din ang ibang taong napashare-an nito.”
